This is an active wilderness trek: cross the river a dozen times, scramble over boulders, swim through canyon pools, and stand beneath powerful cascades, finishing at the stunning Barroso waterfall. A certified guide leads the way (the canyon sits on protected grounds and requires permits), and the day wraps with a hearty lunch at a local soda. Medium-to-high difficulty — come ready to get wet, muddy, and amazed. Bring water shoes and a change of clothes.
