Step up the intensity on the warm, jungle-lined Río Balsa with bigger Class III–IV rapids — punchier drops, faster water, and longer wave trains. Some paddling experience or solid fitness helps: you'll be actively working the boat through tighter lines while your guide calls the moves. Between rapids, catch your breath floating past rainforest canyons with glimpses of Arenal. Bring a change of clothes; you will definitely get wet.
